Some of the questions addressed to BAYTULHUDA The House of Guidance and answered by his Eminence Sheikh Tammam Ahmad may Allah protect him.
1. If we do not know how to read the Qur’an in Arabic, are the English translated versions good to read in?
The answer: If it is impossible to read in the Arabic language, there is no harm in reading in the language that the person is fluent in, if a well-translated copy is available. To English or other languages, reading them is permissible, God knows best.
2. Where do we find the interpretation of the Qur’an translated into English that is closest to what we believe?
The answer: Every correct interpretation narrated on the authority of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), brings the reader closer to his doctrine and makes him understand its origins and branches. Among the good interpretations is Tafsir Al-Tabrirsi, known for Majma’ al-Bayan, Tafsir al-Mizan by Sayyid Tabatabaaii, and the clear interpretation (Attafseer al-wāḏih) by Sheikh Muhammad Ali Yunus. If a translated copy of these interpretations is available, it is sufficient in explaining the meanings of the Holy Qur’an. Otherwise, the reader should be content with whatever translation is available to them, and there is no harm in using machine translation for vocabulary (not the whole verse), God knows best.
3. Is it permissible for me to read the Qur’an on the computer or device during my menstrual cycle?
The answer: Yes, it is permissible for her to read it or write it, whether that is from the Qur’an, from the computer, or from the phone, provided that she avoids Touching the writing when she turns the pages. If she is reading from the Qur’an, it is permissible for her to touch the paper, but it is not permissible for her to touch the Writing, and the same applies if you read on the computer or phone.
And in some narrations: It is permissible for her to recite whatever she wants from the Holy Qur’an, except for the Four Commandment Surahs, which are Surat Al-Alaq, Surat Al-Najm, Surat Al-Sajdah and Surat Fussilat, God knows best.

6. I heard that Prophet Adam (AS) and Eve never ate from the tree. Is this true? What is the story?
The Answer: Almighty Allah said: O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers (19). but Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become immortal (20). And he swore to them both: Surely I am your sincere adviser (21). thus Satan brought about their fall by deceit. And when they tasted of the tree, their shame became visible to them, and both began to cover themselves with leaves from the Garden. Then their Lord called out to them: Did I not forbid you from that tree, and did I not warn you that Satan is your declared enemy (22). They said, Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers (23). Allah said: Go down; you are enemies one of the other. For you, there is dwelling and provision on the earth for a while (24). you shall live there, and there shall you die, and from it, you shall be raised to life (25) [Al- A’raf]
