About washing (al-G̱husl)

Some of the questions addressed to BAYTULHUDA The House of Guidance and answered by his Eminence Sheikh Tammam Ahmad may Allah protect him.


1. Do we need to wash in a specific way after menstruation?

The Answer: Bathing after menstruation is obligatory, and its method is: washing the hands, then washing the private parts, then washing the head, then the rest of the body. God knows best.


2. What is washing (Al-G̱husl) ? When do we need to do it? How do we do that?

The Answer: (Al-G̱husl) (Ritual Washing): It involves cleansing the body with water and is obligatory after sexual intercourse and menstruation. A detailed explanation of the procedure has been previously provided. God knows best.


3. Do we still need to perform ablution (Wuḏūʼ) after finishing showering?

The Answer: There is no need for ablution (Wuḏūʼ) after washing (al-G̱husl). God knows best.
